About
I’m currently VP of Preschool Digital Content at Nickelodeon where I oversee the launch of all new preschool series on YouTube. As an Emmy-nominated kids media executive, I’ve been working in the kids YouTube space for over a decade, creating innovative content that engages kids with characters, stories, and formats optimized for the platform. Previously, I’ve worked for Sprout, NBC’s Universal Kids, BabyFirst TV, Tinkercast, and the Pinna podcast network. I’ve won a handful of awards from Promax, Kidscreen, Cynopsis, the Webbys, the Shortys, and Parents’ Choice.
My expertise is in creating and producing animated series and live action content for kids on digital platforms, specifically YouTube. In an era where kids almost exclusively watch all their media on YouTube, it’s vital to know how to develop and produce content for the platform. Breaking through the clutter is tricky business. It’s not just about creating great characters and stories anymore (though it’s still essential)! It’s also about knowing how to develop those characters and package those stories in ways that are optimized to give your content its best chance of being served up by the YouTube algorithm. And having lots fun while you do it! Because if we’re not having fun making it, kids aren’t gonna have fun watching it.
Outside of the kids space, I'm co-chair of the Advisory Board for the North Fork Arts Center in Greenport, NY, I shot the pilot for “Impractical Jokers,” wrote for the Nick at Night series, “Fatherhood,” directed a documentary about a team of visually impaired bowlers from New York, and helped reunite the New Kids on the Block (that’s not a joke).
I’m also currently, co-directing (and trying to finish!) a documentary called Kid Quixote about an after school program in Brooklyn that was featured in the NY Times, as well as making a short documentary about a man with autism pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a celebrity interviewer, featuring interviews with Amy Schumer, Howie Mandel, Jay Leno, Lewis Black, Regis Philbin and Frankie Valli.
Oh, and I used to lead the indie pop band, The City and Horses. We released four albums, were featured on NPR's All Songs Considered, on TV shows like on FXX's "You're the Worst," and in films like "Paper Heart," and lots of now-defunct indie music blogs.
